Common questions about credits, subscriptions, and payments

What are credits and how are they consumed?+
Credits are SwarmLabs' unified compute unit. Every virtual experiment, literature search, or report generation consumes the corresponding credits. See the "How credits are spent" table above. For example, one standard virtual experiment run costs 15 credits, and one PINN run costs 50 credits.
Do credits expire?+
Credits from a purchased pack are permanent and never expire. Monthly subscription credits (e.g. Pro's 2,000) accumulate within the month and are not wiped at month end. The Free plan's 50 daily credits reset at 00:00 each day.
What is the difference between a subscription and a credit pack?+
A subscription is billed monthly and, beyond the monthly credits, unlocks feature entitlements (all engines, PINN, DOE, export, etc.). A credit pack is a one-time purchase that only increases your credit balance without changing entitlements; it stacks on any subscription and suits temporary top-ups.
Which payment methods are supported?+
The production version integrates Creem, supporting WeChat Pay, Alipay, and international cards. During the current Beta phase, if Creem keys are not configured, a demo-mode payment is auto-enabled — the full payment flow is simulated with no real charge, and credits are added instantly so you can experience the complete purchase loop.
What is demo-mode payment?+
When the backend has no Creem keys configured, the system enters demo mode. After clicking "Subscribe" or "Buy", a simulated payment-confirmation modal appears showing the item name, amount, and credits to be granted. Confirming calls the simulated payment interface and credits arrive instantly, so you can try the full purchase flow without real payment.
Can I upgrade or downgrade anytime?+
Yes. Subscriptions can be upgraded (effective immediately, prorated) or downgraded (effective next billing cycle) at any time. Purchased credit-pack balances are unaffected by plan changes. To cancel, use "Account settings" in the workbench; service continues through the current cycle after cancellation.
How is the Team plan billed?+
The Team plan is billed at ¥599/seat/mo, settled by actual member count. It includes unlimited base credits, a team collaboration space, knowledge graph, and API access. Adding or removing members is prorated for the current period. For teams of 10+ or custom seat arrangements, contact sales for volume discounts.
Is my data safe and compliant?+
All data is transmitted over TLS. The Enterprise tier provides GxP compliance, audit trails, private deployment, and SSO, meeting regulatory submission requirements for pharma / CRO industries. Models and experiment data can be deployed in your own environment so data never leaves your domain.
